The frame is constructed of high-modulus carbon fiber, which offers improved stiffness, better vibration damping, excellent durability, and weight savings compared to other frame materials. Mukluk’s geometry works extremely well in all conditions, whether it be riding groomed singletrack at your local trail, exploring a beach coastline, or embarking across the wild frozen expanses of Alaska. At its core, we use the shortest chainstay possible with a headtube angle and fork offset that place the rider’s center of gravity further over the rear wheel. This location and combination of front and rear center is key to getting a fat bike that is stable, steers well in loose conditions, and feels nimble and agile despite the massive wheels and tires. A low bottom bracket is also key to keep the rider’s center of gravity low and to make dabbing, dismounting, and remounting easier. Additional features that increase Mukluk’s versatility include stealth dropper post routing, rear rack compatibility, and numerous accessory mounts: toptube bosses for a Salsa EXP Series Toptube Bag (sold separately), two water bottle mounts inside the front triangle, and one accessory mount underneath the downtube. It’s got full-length housing that improves shifting performance in poor conditions, and room for multiple wheel/tire combinations, allowing you to dial in your fit or the bike's performance to a specific terrain. Mukluk SX Eagle is perfect for all types of exploration. The SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain provides clean, crisp shifting.
